In the home of the elves, at the beginning of the twelfth lunar month, every family has the custom of killing pigs, curing bacon, and filling sausages. Even if they don’t have pigs, they still have to buy some meat at the homes of pig-killing relatives and friends or the meat stalls on the street. Those who go home, whether they have a well-off family or a poor family, there will be some wax goods hanging on the main room (living room). When family and friends visit in the first month, they can’t help but praise each other. For example, : Wow, there are so many meats in your house. It is estimated that there will be no problem after eating for a year, etc. I heard similar words, and the host’s heart is very happy. . . Even if every family is richer now, they still have the old habit of picking meat every year. . .
When returning home during the Chinese New Year, the trunk is also filled with all kinds of waxed goods. My parents have a strong affection for these waxed goods. After all, after eating for decades, it is hard to leave the homeland and change the local accent. ; It's also a relief of homesickness to fry some hometown flavors from time to time. On weekends, take some fat and lean pork knuckles, add a sweet and delicious shaw radish and stew it in a pot. It is salty, delicious and chewy. It is both an appetizer for wine and a meal. The soup is used for making rice. , It is also very tasty. Stewed in such a pot every three to five times, the whole family is happy to eat, not even the last bit of soup will be left. (Although wax products taste good, they should not be eaten every day, and when eating, it is best to match with fresh ingredients to avoid excessive consumption)
