Tomorrow is Laba Festival! The Laba Festival, commonly known as "Laba", refers to the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month (December) of the lunar calendar. The Laba Festival is a festival used to worship ancestors and gods, and pray for a good harvest and auspiciousness. In China, there is a custom of drinking Laba porridge and soaking Laba garlic on the Laba Festival.
I also collected some miscellaneous grains at home and made a simple eight-treasure porridge. Although the pressure cooker makes eight-treasure porridge faster, the porridge cooked slowly in the casserole is very fragrant and the taste is particularly good, so I still use the casserole to simmer for about three hours. Although it takes time, it tastes good.
I used Dongbei Zai rice, and when the porridge was cooked, there would be a faint fragrance of rice floating out of the casserole. The cooked porridge is also very fragrant. The rice grains are soft and waxy with a strong rice fragrance.
"Aberdeen rice", that is, rice in the juvenile and growing stage, is the small, immature rice that is picked from the rice stalks when the live stalks are harvested. The rice has a soft texture and a soft fragrant taste. The porridge made by boiling water and mild fire is the best. The nutritional value of "adult rice" is 2~3 times. "
