Wantuozi is a famous snack in Pingyao, Shanxi. Its taste is similar to that of noodles. It is a kind of snack that my mother likes to eat.
There are two kinds of bowl holders, one is made of tartary soba noodles, the surface is yellow. The other is made of flour and starch, and the surface is white. Because it is steamed in a small bowl, the shape is flat.
The noodle shops on the street sometimes sell bowl trays, but the flavor of the blend is not delicious, so my mother often buys the steamed ones, and cuts them up for cold dressing.
