Golden Pumpkin Wotou——the Golden Cornucopia of Happy New Year

The pumpkin is sliced and steamed, aired until it is warmed to about 37 degrees, then add an appropriate amount of yeast and mix well, the amount is about 1% of the flour.

Add a little salt and a small amount of sugar to the flour. Add the pumpkin puree and stir it into a flocculent shape. The pumpkin puree should be added in portions to avoid being too wet and sticky.

Make it into a smooth dough. Knead the dough as much as possible to make the finished product smooth.

Cover with plastic wrap and send it to 2-2.5 times the size in a warm place. Press a hole without shrinking or collapsing.

Divide the dough into several doses, one larger and the other smaller, with the same number of small and large doses.

In a pot with cold water, steam for about 10 minutes after the water is boiled (depending on the size of the dough). Turn off the heat and simmer for 3 or 4 minutes before removing the lid. Do not open the lid halfway through.

After opening the lid, just take out the small doses in the middle, one by one, the soft and hollow nests will be made, and the small doses in the middle are a small steamed bun.
