Homemade Jelly Grass
1.
Wash the raw grass and clean the sand, and pick out the yellow and rotten leaves. After all, you eat it yourself. Pour 5 kg (2500 g) of water into the pot, add 3 g of edible alkali powder to the water and boil it on high heat, then put the grass in the boiling water and boil it, turn off the heat for about 30 seconds after boiling, and remove the grass. , Don’t pour the water used to boil the immortal grass, leave it to dry and filter for later use.
2.
This is boiled grass water, don't throw it away, it's still needed.
3.
This is the boiled fairy grass. Let it dry and cut it in half.
4.
Put half of the small cut grass into the blender (because my food processor is smaller and can only put half). Just now 5 kilograms of water have been used to cook the grass, and the remaining 3 kilograms of water needs to be used for mixing the grass. Oh here.
5.
Filter the mixed fairy grass liquid. Throw away the residue. I don't have gauze at home, so I can only filter it with a filter. The filter plug will be slower, and gauze will be faster. I filtered this step twice.
6.
Put the cornstarch into a bowl and pour some water to dilute without particles, then pour it into the grass juice and stir evenly, and then slowly pour the well-stirred grass juice into the reserved boiled grass water (here, remember, Slowly, and stir while pouring, so as not to form a dough.) After pouring in, turn on a high fire and cook while stirring. The grass juice will thicken slowly, and it will bubble when it boils, then turn off the fire.
7.
Pour the boiled fairy grass juice into a basin and let it condense after drying. As the water content of the jelly grass is not much after it has condensed, it is recommended to add some cold boiled water and put it in the refrigerator for a better taste.
8.
The jelly grass can be eaten with sugar, honey, coconut milk, red beans, and peanuts. Various flavors can be adjusted as you like.
