I like to eat melon seeds, especially the spiced ones. The last time I made them was hand-fried in a wok, it was very tiring. So I thought about using an oven to bake the five-spice melon seeds. The key to baking this way is that you don’t get tired of your arms because you don’t need electricity. The advantage of baking in the oven is that it tastes better than fried when it is not dirty. Spiced Sunflower Seeds

1. Wash the raw melon seeds with water

2. Prepare aniseed, peppercorns and refined salt

3. Place water in a pot, add the aniseed and diced peppercorns and cook for 5 minutes

4. Add melon seeds

5. Put in the right amount of salt, you can add more salt if you like the strong taste

6. Cover the pot and bring to a boil on high heat, then turn to low heat and cook for about 15 minutes

7. The cooked melon seeds are soaked for 2 hours so that they are easier to taste

8. Drain the soaked melon seeds and spread them evenly on the baking tray

9. Put it in the oven and heat it up and down at 200 degrees for about 40 minutes

10. Take it out in the middle and turn it over and continue to bake

11. Roast until the seeds are completely dry and the sound is crisp, you can taste it directly

Tips:

The oven time is determined by each household

When you bake it, turn it over in the middle so it's more evenly cooked

The amount of aniseed, pepper, and salt is according to personal taste. If you like the strong taste, you can put more
