Apple Rose Roll

1. Preparation materials: red apple, meringue, cinnamon powder, honey, white sugar is also decided according to personal preference, I used 3 or 4 spoons

Cut the apple in half, remove the core, and then carefully cut into small slices. The slices should not be too thick, otherwise the subsequent steps will not be difficult to roll and shape. If it is too thin, the redness of the apple peel will not be so obvious.

Unfold the puff pastry and cut into strips about 1.5 cm wide. When storing the puff pastry, do not freeze it. Just keep it in the cold. Keep it tightly sealed, otherwise it will dry out easily. Take out the slightly dry puff pastry and touch it. Just feel the water

There is another important step before rolling the apples, which is to boil the apples: boil water in a pan, put the cut apple slices in, add sugar, and the water is just over the apple slices. The purpose of cooking the apples is to make them softer and easier for us to roll the apples later. The raw apples are too crisp and easily break during the rolling process. The apple peel will fade during the cooking process. This is normal. Sugar is added to increase the sweetness. The cooked apple slices are taken out and lined up one after another as shown in the picture. The curved side faces outwards, and the apple slices cover about half of the puff pastry strips. If you cover too much, there will be no curvature to see when you roll it out. If you cover it too little, the apple will slide out. Finally, sprinkle some cinnamon powder. In Western diet, apple and cinnamon are a perfect match.

Alright, now just roll up the puff pastry strips in one direction. At the end, leave a little blank puff pastry strips, squeeze it tightly, and close it.

Preheat the oven, spread tin foil on the baking tray, and make the final shaping of the apple strudel. The bottom of the apple strudel must be kept flat, otherwise it will easily collapse and become deformed during the baking process. If you have a tart model or a muffin mold, you can also put it in the mold and put it in the oven to prevent deformation, and sprinkle a layer of cinnamon powder on the surface of the apple
