Homemade Delicious Candied Haws
1.
Wash the hawthorn and remove the pedicle
2.
Wear it with bamboo sticks. I suggest you use short bamboo sticks for eating at home so that the rock candy is evenly wrapped.
3.
Prepare 150 grams of rock sugar and the same weight of boiling water.
Tip: Be sure to dissolve the sugar in boiling water. The ratio of boiling water to rock sugar is 1:1. White sugar can be used, but sugar is easier to get through the fire than rock sugar, and the color is easy to turn yellow or black.
4.
Put rock sugar and boiling water in a saucepan, heat on medium heat, do not stir, wait for rock sugar to dissolve
5.
The time to boil the rock candy is about 5-7 minutes, so be patient and boil it over a small fire.
Tips: When boiling, don’t stir with a spoon, you can shake the pot a little
6.
Here is a little trick to verify whether the rock sugar is boiled well: prepare a bowl of cold water, use a chopstick to put the rock sugar in the pot, and then quickly put it in the cold water, the rock sugar liquid can quickly agglomerate, which is the kind of crunchy hardness. Just make a clucking sound on the teeth.
7.
Quickly turn the hawthorn in the syrup, quickly take it out and put it on the chopping board. If there is a lot of sticky syrup, you can put it on the chopping board and pull it down quickly, so that the long rock candy will come out. I made it myself, the amount of rock candy is just right, and I don’t like it too sweet, so I put it on the chopping board.
Tip: Find a small chopping board that can be put in the refrigerator, and it can be stored in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Hawthorn should not stay in the syrup for a long time. The hot syrup is very hot. It is easy to blanch the candied fruit and soften it. The soft candied fruit is not so sour or crispy.
8.
Put the prepared candied haws in a cool place and wait for 10 minutes.
Hawthorn can also be replaced with strawberries, oranges, apples, cherry tomatoes and other fruits, making them equally delicious
