Choose fresh oranges. The skin should be unwaxed. The fresher the orange, the better. I bought oranges with fresh leaves. It is recommended to use oranges, I have tried the orange zest but it doesn’t taste as good

Add edible soda noodles. The traditional method is quicklime water, which is all alkaline substances. I have used edible alkali and the effect is also very good.

It's hard. Because of the addition of green pigment, the color is naturally green, which is blue silk. Because the pigments I use are extracted from plants, I don’t want to be as heavy as the pigments. But health comes first, so that's it.

As for the red silk, I didn't use red pigment anymore, and took advantage of the color of orange peel itself. The color you eat is not important, the key is the taste. The specific method is the same as that of blue silk, except that no coloring is added.

I put the finished blue silk and red silk in different jars. It is more convenient to use. So it's hard, and the amount of sugar is relatively large. The green and red silk made by yourself can be stored for a long time, and it can be used for a while after making it once. You can put your own green and red silk in the glutinous rice balls for the Spring Festival this year, and you can also use the New Year’s Eight Treasure Rice
