Honey Grapefruit Tea

First put the grapefruit in the sink, and scrub the skin of the grapefruit repeatedly with salt until the wax on the skin is completely scrubbed.

Use a sharp knife to peel off the surface of the grapefruit. Try not to peel off the white ones, because the white ones are very bitter and will affect the taste.

Put the peeled grapefruit peel on the chopping board, clean the white one on the grapefruit peel, and then cut into shreds, put it in a bowl, pour an appropriate amount of water, add a spoonful of salt, and soak for one hour.

Clean the soaked grapefruit peel, put it in a pot, pour a bowl of water, and add a spoonful of salt. Bring the water to a boil on high fire. The water will boil for 10 minutes. After it is boiled, remove it and soak it in salt water for an hour. Soak it and cook for another 10 minutes. Repeat this twice and the grapefruit peel will not be so bitter.

Peel the grapefruit pulp and put it on a plate. Remember to peel the skin off the grapefruit pulp, otherwise it will be bitter. Then prepare the honey and yellow rock sugar and prepare to boil.

Wash the soaked grapefruit skin and put it in a pot, then pour in the grapefruit pulp and yellow rock sugar, pour in 250ml of water, boil the water over high heat, turn to medium heat and simmer until the soup thickens. Remember not to add too much water, the grapefruit pulp contains water, and a lot of water will come out when it is cooked.

This is what it looks like when it is boiled. I boil it for about 50 minutes. After it is boiled, it is placed in a pot to cool.

After the grapefruit tea is completely cooled, pour the honey, stir evenly, and then put it into an airtight jar for storage.

The freshly brewed honey grapefruit tea tastes not so good, the taste is a bit bitter, it is best to keep it in the refrigerator for a week, and then take it out to drink, so that the taste will be better!

Tips:
1. The whole grapefruit should be scrubbed with salt for a while to scrub the wax clean.
2. When peeling grapefruit peel, clean the white ones. The cleaner the peel, the better the taste of grapefruit tea.
3. The pot for making grapefruit tea is also particular, it is best not to use an iron pot, use a non-stick or stainless steel pot.
4. The amount of rock sugar and honey can be adjusted according to your favorite taste.
