Relieving Heat, Winter Melon and Barley Syrup

Barley is not easy to ripen and become soft. After the barley is washed, it needs to be soaked for 1 hour in advance.

Wash the wax gourd, remove the seeds, leave the skin, and cut into small pieces. You can also remove the skin for taste.

Put the winter melon and barley together in the soup pot and bring to a boil and simmer for one hour, or one and a half hours.

Open the lid, add an appropriate amount of rock sugar, boil for another 10 minutes until the rock sugar is completely melted, and stir well.

A refreshing summer sweet water is ready
Tips:
The soup can be salty or sweet, if it is salty, add pork bones.
East melon is diuretic, but remember that East melon is cold, especially sweet, and it is easy to cough when you eat it. Remember to drink hot while drinking, and don't drink too much.
