Colorful Cod Congee
1.
Prepare ingredients: 30g baby porridge rice, 5g quinoa, 5g oats, 30g cod, 30g corn kernels, 30g bell peppers, 20g broccoli, 20g crab mushrooms, and a little shrimp skin.
PS: If you don't have quinoa or oats, you can omit it. For older babies, you can also add some brown rice and other miscellaneous grains. Cod can also be replaced with salmon or shrimp.
In this rice porridge, I use many kinds of ingredients. If the baby's stomach can't adapt, some of the ingredients can be appropriately reduced.
10 months to 2 years old babies need to omit corn kernels if they can't chew corn kernels.
2.
Peel the cod and cut into small pieces.
PS: It is best to marinate the cod with lemon slices for 10 minutes in advance. After cutting the pieces, check carefully whether there are any bones left in the fish.
3.
After the water boils, blanch the broccoli for about 1 minute to remove the residual pesticides.
4.
Then cut the broccoli into small flowers.
PS: I didn't completely chop the broccoli, cut it into small pieces (about the size of the thumb finger cover), which can exercise the baby's chewing ability.
5.
After the water boils, add the crab-flavored mushrooms and blanch for 2 minutes.
PS: Crab-flavored mushrooms can also be replaced with other mushrooms, such as shiitake mushrooms, eryngii mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, etc. Regular consumption of these fungi can improve the baby's immunity.
6.
Then chop the crab mushrooms.
7.
After washing the colored peppers, cut them into small cubes.
PS: Colored peppers are rich in vitamin C, also called sweet peppers. They are not spicy and can be eaten by babies.
8.
Shred the dried shrimps.
PS: Some ordinary shrimp skins are a little salty, so it is best to soak in warm water for 20 minutes in advance to remove excessive salt~
9.
While preparing the side dishes, don’t forget to cook the porridge first. Add porridge rice and quinoa, add water and simmer for about 15 minutes.
PS: It is best to cook the porridge on a low heat and add enough water at a time to make the porridge more viscous.
10.
Then pour in the cod and crab mushrooms and continue to cook for 5 minutes.
11.
Add cooked corn kernels.
PS: If the baby has not learned to chew corn kernels, especially babies under 2 years old, you can omit corn kernels to prevent choking.
12.
Pour the instant oats into the pot.
PS: I added instant oatmeal, just put it in the pot three minutes before it comes out.
13.
Pour in broccoli and bell peppers and simmer for 3 minutes.
PS: During the porridge cooking period, be sure to stir frequently with a spoon to avoid mashing the pot~
14.
Finally, add the shrimp skins, simmer for 2 minutes, then turn off the heat and take it out of the pot.
15.
Such a bowl of colorful cod porridge with bright colors is ready. It is not only suitable for babies, but also very suitable for breakfast for the whole family. It is full of nutrition!
Tips:
When cooking porridge, the ratio of water to porridge rice is about 10:1. If you add other ingredients, you can increase the ratio of water a little bit more appropriately.
Shrimp skin can help season the rice porridge. If there is no shrimp skin, babies over one year old can decide whether to add a little salt to taste according to their taste.
