It’s a traditional Chinese custom to eat moon cakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Although there are all kinds of moon cakes on the market, I still make some traditional five-nut moon cakes with the existing nut ingredients at home.

Five Kernel Moon Cakes

1. Various cooked nuts crushed.

2. Put it in a basin + cooked glutinous powder, ten sugar, peanut oil, a little white wine, and mineral water and stir it evenly to form a dough.

3. It is better to put it in the refrigerator for 1-2 days to taste better.

4. Stir peanut oil + syrup + soap evenly, sift in the flour and milk powder and knead well, leave it for 1-2 hours.

5. The skin and filling can be made into small round balls according to 2:8 or 3:7.

6. The dough stuffing is closed.

7. Sprinkle a little flour on the moon cake mold to prevent stickiness, put the wrapped dough into the moon cake.

8. Brush the baking pan with a layer of oil, or use tin foil.

9. Spray some water on the wrapped mooncakes, put them in the preheated oven, and bake them at 200 degrees for 5-6 minutes.

10. After the pattern is finalized, take out and brush the egg yolk water, and then put it in the oven for about 15 minutes.

11. The mooncakes just baked are very hard,

12. Return to the oil in 1-2 days before eating.
