The roasted coffee beans are ground into coffee powder. Then rinse the coffee powder with hot water and pass through the filter paper to extract the soluble substances in the coffee powder. This is a common method for general drip coffee machines. We only need to buy a packet of ground coffee powder, a packet of coffee filter paper can solve the problem. After the hot water has extracted most of the soluble substances in the coffee powder, the remaining coffee grounds can be thrown away (those who can spend their days can put them in the refrigerator as a deodorant). With this method, 6-7 grams of coffee powder, a cup of coffee is about 150ML.
In addition, there is a completely different way to get a cup of coffee, namely espresso. Espresso originated in Italy, so it is usually called espresso.
How is espresso different from regular coffee? The key difference is pressure. The aforementioned extraction of ordinary coffee does not require pressurization, while the espresso is applied with 1.5-10 atmospheres during the extraction process. Because of the air pressure, the soluble substances in the coffee powder can be extracted with a small amount of water in a short period of time. The volume of 1 cup of coffee obtained in this way is often less than 30ML, which is very rich.
However, the reason why espresso is admired is not only because of its concentration. The composition of coffee beans is very complicated. Because of the different extraction conditions, coffee extracted with high pressure in a short period of time can avoid some unpleasant components in the coffee beans from being extracted. Moreover, espresso coffee generally requires the use of dark roasted coffee beans. The caffeine content of coffee beans is much lower. Therefore, adding water to a cup of 30ML of espresso coffee to 150ML is not equivalent to a cup of 150ML of ordinary coffee.
Espresso coffee is very suitable for desserts because of its concentration. Because when making desserts. Especially for those desserts that do not require too much moisture, we consider how to obtain a stronger coffee flavor while adding as little moisture as possible. Using instant coffee powder can solve this problem because it contains no moisture at all. For some desserts with a little moisture, we can consider using espresso instead of the moisture. After all, espresso coffee is used in desserts to get a better taste than instant coffee powder. As for coffee flavor, we basically don't consider it based on the principle of home roasting as the less additives are used.
The problem with espresso is that it must use special equipment. In the coffee shop, we can drink espresso made by a professional espresso machine. At home, you can only use a domestic espresso machine. The current home coffee machine can create enough atmospheric pressure to extract coffee, but after all, it is not as easy to use as professional machines, and sometimes the effect is only barely satisfactory.
Generally speaking, if 6-7 grams of coffee powder, 30ML of coffee is extracted, it is called standard espresso. If it is less than 30ML, it is called espresso or espresso. (However, it is difficult for home coffee machines to do this). Add sugar to espresso or espresso and drink it directly. For most people in China, this is a bit thicker. Then, add milk, or chocolate sauce, or whipped cream, you can make different varieties and flavors of coffee.

Ingredients

Italian Coffee

1. Use a coffee spoon to measure 1 scoop of ground coffee (6-7 grams). You can buy ground coffee powder, or you can use a grinder to grind coffee beans into powder. Freshly ground coffee has a more mellow taste because of the less volatilization of aroma substances

2. Pour the coffee powder into the filter of the espresso machine and flatten the coffee with a ram

4. Turn on the switch of the espresso machine and draw about 30ML of espresso

Tips:

1. The effect of home coffee machine varies with varieties. I haven't used it much. The condition of the current one is average, so the extraction effect is not very good. For standard espresso, there will be a layer of brown-red fine and heavy foam on the surface that is similar to the color of coffee;
2. Espresso can be made into many kinds of coffee we are familiar with. Take a look at how the following coffees are made: Latte: Take a 180ML coffee cup, pour 1 cup of 30ML espresso, and then pour hot milk until it is full. Cappuccino: Take a 180ML coffee cup and pour a 30ML espresso. Use the steam pipe to froth the milk. Pour about 30ML of hot milk in the coffee cup, and then fill it with milk froth. Herbalife Blue Coffee: Take a 60ML coffee cup, pour a 30ML espresso coffee, and then squeeze in the whipped cream until the cup is full.
