Nut Chocolate Energy Bar

Heat the butter in water to melt into a liquid state, add brown sugar, caster sugar, and honey and stir constantly to fuse the sugar and butter together. Sift the flour with oatmeal and chopped nuts. Pour the flour and nut mixture into the butter mixture in the first step and mix well with a spatula or spoon to make the two evenly mixed. Add the dark chocolate cut into small pieces and mix well. Pour the mixed mixture into a square mold with a side length of 13cm*13cm (the inner wall of the mold is coated with a thin layer of butter to prevent sticking). Flatten and compact with the back of a spoon. Put the mold in a preheated oven at 180℃ and bake for about 20 minutes until the surface is golden brown. Release the mold when it is out of the oven and cooled to the same temperature as the palm of the hand. Cool thoroughly and cut into 8 pieces
Tips:
1. The mold used in the recipe is a square baking bowl. You can use any other square molds on hand instead, and increase or decrease the materials in the formula proportionally according to the size of your own mold. For large molds, the baking time should be appropriately extended. If there is no square mold, this recipe can also be spread in a 6-inch round cake mold;
2. The freshly baked energy block is crispy on the outside and soft and fragile on the inside, which is not convenient for cutting. It will be easier to cut into pieces after it is completely cooled (if possible, it can be sealed overnight);
3. For dark chocolate, you can use commercially available ordinary dark chocolate, or you can use dark chocolate bricks or dark chocolate beans for baking. You can choose the type of nuts you like. If it is raw nuts, you must roast them before using them;
4. When pour the mixed batter into the baking pan and flatten it, remember to press it tightly with the back of a spoon, not too loose;
5. This energy block is very similar to the hazelnut oat block in the previous blog. However, the ingredients are simpler and the taste is denser. Besides, this one has a chocolate flavor.
