The wife cake is a kind of traditional specialty in the Chaozhou area of Guangdong, which is made of sugar winter melon, wheat flour, cake powder, caramel, sesame and other ingredients as the main raw materials. It is the cake with the least materials, the simplest workmanship and the most well-known among Guangdong tide-style moon cakes. Originated from Guangdong Chaozhou Dim Sum Wife Cake, the outer skin is baked into an attractive golden color, and the layers of pastry inside are as thin as cotton paper, so crispy. When you bite it off, the crumbs fall all over the floor. You can taste honey in every bite. Sweet taste like sugar!

1. This recipe can make 24 wife cakes. The portion in my picture is a bit too much.
2. If there is no cooked cake flour, you can use glutinous rice flour instead.
