Traditional Candied Haws

Hawthorn stems removed and washed

Use a knife to cut the hawthorn in a circular motion, lightly cut it, don’t cut it through

Turn the hawthorn twice gently to unscrew the hawthorn

Deduct the core inside and buckle together

Boil sugar and water over low heat (the ratio is not clear for the first time)

When the white sugar has all melted and started to turn yellow and thick, add some black sesame seeds and boil

Brush oil on the panel

Just wait for the boiled sugar to solidify immediately in cold water

Use a spoon to pour the boiled sugar on the hawthorn skewers, turning while pouring.
