Braided Apple Pie
1.
Cut the butter into small pieces and soften at room temperature.
2.
Add sifted flour, sugar and salt
3.
Rub it with your hands into cornmeal.
4.
Add egg yolk and water.
5.
Just knead it into dough. Don't knead it for too long to avoid swelling. Cover with plastic wrap and keep it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
6.
While waiting for refrigeration, you can make apple filling. Heat the pan and add the butter. After the butter has melted, add the diced apples and stir-fry. Use low heat the whole time.
7.
Add sugar. After adding sugar, the diced apple will overflow with a lot of water. Simmer it slowly for about 3 minutes.
8.
Add a little bit of salt, mix well with 20 grams of water and 10 grams of cornstarch, then thicken it and cook to thicken.
9.
Turn off the heat, and finally add the lemon juice and mix well.
10.
Divide the loosened dough into 200 grams of dough and roll it out, then lift the pie crust with a rolling pin, spread it on a 6-inch pie pan, press it out with your hands, and then roll it on the pie pan with a rolling pin to remove excess Pie Pi.
11.
Roll out other pie crusts and cut out 3 strips, 0.8cm wide and 28cm long. Place them crosswise in the middle as shown.
12.
Start the braid in the middle, braid one side and then reverse the braid on the other side.
13.
Then cut out 20 long strips, braided in a Tic Tac Toe shape, leaving a little space between the strips, not close to each other.
14.
Use a fork to make multiple holes in the bottom of the pie.
15.
Put the apple filling in and spread it as much as possible. Place the woven tic-tac-toe on top, cut out the extra part, and set aside 1/3.
16.
Roll out a small piece of pie crust and spread it on 1/3 of the area and remove the excess pie crust. Use a pattern mold to extrude large and small flowers and place them on top.
17.
Put the apple pie into the lower level of the Dongling K30A oven that has been preheated at 200 degrees, and bake for 25 minutes.
Tips:
1. When the room temperature is high, it is better to put the pie crust materials (except butter) in the refrigerator and then operate.
2. The butter is so soft that it can be pressed down with your fingers.
3. Don't knead the pie crust dough for too long, just form a dough.
4. The temperament of each type of oven is different, the temperature and time are for reference only.
