Dou Zong

To prepare the ingredients, wash the glutinous rice first, soak it in cold water for 2 hours and set aside.

Clean the zong leaves and scald them with boiling water for later use.

Mix the prepared red beans, mung beans, barley, and glutinous rice. (Barley, red beans and mung beans should be soaked in water for more than 2 hours)

Cut off the head and tail of the zongye

Take a zong leaf and fold out a triangle.

Put in a big red date

The zong leaves are folded from top to bottom to form a triangle.

Tie strong with brown rope

Put the rice dumplings in a rice cooker and steam them. It will take at least two and a half hours to steam.
Tips:
When making rice dumplings, be sure to tie the brown rope tightly to prevent rice from leaking during cooking.
