Grapefruit Peel Candy

Take fresh grapefruit peel.

Rub the outer layer of the grapefruit peel with salt and wash it off.

Use a knife to cut off a thin layer of the inner flesh to make the cut surface smoother.

Cut the grapefruit peel into long strips.

Put the cut grapefruit peel in a basin, then add salt and knead to remove the bitterness and astringency of the grapefruit peel.

Soak the washed grapefruit peel in clean water.

Pick up the grapefruit peel every 5-6 hours and squeeze the water dry by hand.

Then add water to soak, soak for at least 24 hours and at most 48 hours.

The soaked grapefruit peel is squeezed out again and put in a pot to boil.

After the boiled grapefruit peel has cooled down, squeeze the water dry by hand again. It is best to dry or air dry.

Add rock sugar to water and boil it into syrup over medium and low heat.

Add the grapefruit peel and stir fry slowly over medium-low heat.

Cook until the sugar liquid is absorbed by the grapefruit peel and there is no solution in the pot.

The prepared pomelo peel can be eaten directly, but it can also be dried in the sun or baked in an oven at low temperature.

The dried pomelo peel can be stored for more than one year when sealed.
Tips:
1. Rub the skin of grapefruit with salt for the first time to remove the wax on the grapefruit; the cut grapefruit peel is rubbed with salt to remove its bitterness.
2. To remove the bitterness and astringency of grapefruit peel, it is washing, soaking and blanching.
3. The finished pomelo peel can be eaten and stored directly without drying or drying, but the storage time is shortened. The undried pomelo peel candies have a moist taste.
4. Every time I make pomelo peel candy, I usually make 3-4 pomelo peels, because it takes a long time to fry the pomelo peel candy, so I will make more of them at a time.
