Miscellaneous Siu Mai
1.
Soak glutinous rice, brown rice, black rice, and shiitake mushrooms for at least two hours.
2.
Chop the shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and green onions finely. Heat the pot and add oil. After heating, pour on top of the shiitake mushrooms, mix well, add an egg and meat filling, and mix well.
3.
The rice is soaked and drained. Add the mixed meat, salt, sesame oil, and pepper noodles. You can dip it with chopsticks to taste the salt.
4.
Use a rolling pin to roll the dumpling skin a bit thinner, put the mixed rice into it, and squeeze it tightly with your hands. Pay attention to leaking some rice, which will look better.
5.
Boil water in the pot, brush the oil in the steamer, put the simmered wheat on it, steam it in the pot after the water is boiled, and steam for 40 minutes. Remember to turn it on halfway and brush the skin with water so that it won’t dry out.
Tips:
1. Use high heat when steaming! Be careful not to burn the pot.
2. Taste it first after 40 minutes. The rice from miscellaneous grains is rather brown and does not feel too soft. If you don't like it, you can just use glutinous rice.
