Original Deer Theme Christmas Fondant Cake
1.
8-inch heavy oil cake embryo, marshmallow (used to make fondant paste), powdered sugar, white oil, dry pisces, food coloring, fondant special iron wire, cream frosting
2.
First of all, we have to make an 8-inch heavy oil cake. Beat the softened butter for use, beat the eggs with fine sugar, add them to the previously beaten butter in portions, mix well, add low powder and stir evenly, pour it into the mold, and preheat the oven. 180° for 40 minutes. Finally, use the pre-prepared butter cream to cover the cake base
3.
Next, use marshmallows to make your own fondant cream. This is a relatively simple method. Of course, you can also buy finished fondant cream. Add 320g of marshmallows to 15ml of water and then melt in water. You can also use a microwave oven, but be careful to observe and stir repeatedly
4.
Add 200g of powdered sugar and stir to form evenly. Do not add too much at a time, it will be difficult to mix well.
5.
Pour the marshmallows mixed in the bowl on the mat and continue to knead until all the powdered sugar has been added. You can dip your hands with white oil to avoid sticky hands.
6.
Wrap the kneaded fondant cream in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator to stand for 12 hours
7.
Take the fondant cream from the refrigerator, add food coloring to adjust the color you want, tried the mixture of vanilla-flavored marshmallows and strawberry flavors and it turned pink, so try to choose white marshmallows
8.
Use a rolling pin to roll the colored fondant cream into a round sugar crust with a thickness of about 2-3mm and a diameter larger than the diameter and height of the cake. Be careful not to roll it out too thinly and easily break, rather thicker than thinner
9.
Cover the rolled sugar crust on the cake base, use a spatula to wipe from the top surface and then smooth around the cake so that the sugar crust completely covers the cake base. The antlers are made of a special iron wire for fondant, and then covered with dry pisces.
10.
Next is the hand-painted part of the deer head. Use food coloring instead of paint for hand-painting. When hand-painting, it should be lighter and the sugar skin will be pitted out by accident. The golden part of the antlers is made of edible gold powder, and the bead part is made of candies. Finally, use a mold to press the dry pisces out of the pattern and stick it around the cake. The adhesive used here is the previous massecuite and melted with water. Of course, the adhesive can also be used because the fondant itself has a certain viscosity.
11.
Basically, the whole main fondant cake of Yuanlu is almost here. Although the description in the text may be relatively simple, the process is still more complicated, so you need to calm down and slowly make the fondant. Now everything is fast. Reading is fast. Food is fast. It is rare to be able to calm down and do something seriously.
12.
I made a few more cupcakes as decorations.
13.
Of course, Christmas is indispensable to make homemade biscuits, how about delicious food, do you want to eat it?
Tips:
Let's talk about the shooting of the head picture below. In order to match the shooting effect, a few cupcakes have been made as decoration.
Light: Natural light backlit
Props: Old wooden boards, tablecloths, Christmas decorations, Christmas trees, homemade gingerbread, homemade cupcake, pine cone
Shooting setting: Because this shooting is a Christmas theme, I want to create a snowy and bright visual effect. The color scheme did not use the common red, green and white colors, but used a combination of cyan and gold. Backlighting is used for the shooting light, and a large reflector is added to the left and right of the fondant cake. The so-called table cloth on the tabletop is actually the carpet that HM just bought. I used it to shoot when I saw that the effect was good. Biscuits, pine cones and cupcakes. The Christmas tree acts as a background not only to embellish the industry but also to match colors. Having said so much, it was probably some of the thoughts in my mind when I was shooting. In short, you must think about the shots before shooting to get twice the result with half the effort.
Shooting parameters: Focal length: 105mm Aperture: f/8 Exposure time: 8 seconds ISO: 400
I hope it can be helpful to friends who like food and photography. Merry Christmas, everyone.
