Zanba is a sweet snack often eaten by southerners. Zanba is a block of various shapes made by steaming glutinous rice. Today I bought the small round glutinous rice cakes at the market. This kind of glutinous rice cakes can be cooked directly without changing the knife.

Ingredients

Osmanthus Candy Glutinous Rice Cake

1. Prepare 400 grams of glutinous rice cake, 20 grams of edible oil and sweet-scented osmanthus sugar, and pour them into a bowl in advance.

2. Here is a recent photo of sweet-scented osmanthus candy, which is sold in general supermarkets for five yuan a bottle.

3. Prepare a clean pot again, and pour the cooking oil prepared earlier into the pot.

4. Then, put the glutinous rice cake neatly in the oil pan. as the picture shows;

5. Then fry the glutinous rice cakes with a small fire. During the frying process, use a spatula to separate the sticky rice cakes.

6. After frying for about two minutes, when the glutinous rice cake on the bottom of the pan is fried into a browned color, quickly turn it over with a spatula and continue frying on a low fire. Fry the other side until it turns brown.

7. Turn off the heat when the glutinous rice cakes in the pot are all browned. If you are not sure whether the glutinous rice cake is fully fried, you can use a chopstick to stick it into the glutinous rice cake. If you can easily pierce it through, it means that the glutinous rice cake is well fried.

8. Then, put the fried glutinous rice cake out of the pan and put it on a plate.

9. Sprinkle the osmanthus sugar prepared before. This sweet dessert with crispy outside and waxy inside is ready.

Tips:

The temperature of frying the glutinous rice cake must be low fire and slow frying, so that the glutinous rice cake can be fried thoroughly~ cooked. If the fire is high, the fried glutinous rice cake will be hard on the outside and hard on the inside (not fully cooked). If you can't buy sweet-scented osmanthus sugar, you can use white sugar instead.
