Red Bean Candied Date Rice Dumpling
1.
1. Take two zong leaves and overlap them.
2.
Fold the zong leaves into a funnel shape, and then rotate the zong leaves inside to make the zong leaves slender.
3.
Mix the red beans and glutinous rice, stuff them into the bottom, and add two candied dates.
4.
Spread glutinous rice on top.
5.
Fold the zong leaves back and wrap the zongzi.
6.
Finally, tie the rice dumplings tightly with Malian.
7.
Put the rice dumplings into the pot and fill the water with heavy objects on the top, so that the cooked rice dumplings will have a firm texture. Finally cover the pot. Bring to a high heat and cook on low heat for more than 2 hours. Finally, do not move after turning off the heat. It is best to simmer for a few more hours, so that the cooked rice dumplings will be more sticky.
Tips:
1. Red beans must be soaked in advance, preferably overnight.
2. Candied dates can be bought ready-made. You can mix glutinous rice and beans, or spread a layer of glutinous rice and then a layer of red beans. The layering will be obvious.
