Zeng cake is a special flavor snack in Xi'an and Guanzhong area.
Many of my friends don’t know how to pronounce the word "Zeng Gao" the first time I heard it. I also checked it before confirming it.
"Zeng cake" and "Zeng" read zeng four times. Retort is actually a very large and deep container with small holes at the bottom. Shaanxi people call it "jing cake."
Although we don't have that kind of special container at home, the retort cake tastes great. Today I will introduce a method of making retort cake at home.
To make Zeng cake, the most suitable use is round glutinous rice, red dates, and red kidney beans. Today, I used the existing red beans at home.

Tips:

To make this delicious, the choice of rice is very important: choose round-grained rice, which has a much better viscosity than long-grained rice and a better taste.
Dates and beans can be freely chosen, both candied dates and red kidney beans.
The method of boiling rice was specially taught by Xi'an gourmet friends. Boiling rice is the process of determining the taste. If it is steamed for the elderly and it is soft and waxy, then add a little more water and add it while boiling. Otherwise, add less water, and boil the rice until it changes color and sticks. .
