Sydney Bird's Nest with Rock Sugar
1.
Prepare a bird's nest
2.
Soak in pure water or cold water for about 4 hours
3.
You can change the water several times during the soaking period
4.
After soaking for two hours, you can tear the bird’s nest one by one according to the texture and continue to soak the hair (you can also tear off the silk after completely soaking the hair)
5.
After soaking the hair, rinse it several times to remove the fine hair impurities and drain the water for later use (generally there is no white core or slightly white core to determine whether the hair is completely soaked)
6.
Peel the pear and cut into pieces for later use (size according to personal preference)
7.
Put the previously drained bird's nest into the stewing pot and add appropriate amount of water (not too much water and about 1-2 cm after the bird's nest). If you are stewed, you can add rock sugar and stew first. Add rock sugar in the first 2-5 minutes (the electric cooker takes about an hour)
8.
You can also put it in a pot and cover with a lid to steam and stew. When using a home pot, you just need to boil on high heat, and simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes. If the stewing time is too long, it will be easy to melt water.
9.
Goji berries can be put or left according to personal preference. I like to put a few trees to make it more colorful!
10.
If the bird’s nest and Sydney pear are stewed separately, if there is too much stewed bird’s nest, it can be stored in a sealed glass bottle in the refrigerator for about a week.
11.
Take the right amount of bird's nest and mix it with Sydney syrup to enjoy the light and delicious Sydney bird's nest with rock sugar.
Tips:
Bird's nest and Sydney can also be steamed and stewed together in a stew pot. If they are stewed together, the rock sugar and wolfberry can be put in 2-5 minutes before the pot starts.
