Put millet and glutinous rice into clean water and soak 4 hours in advance.

Wash the jujube, cut into strips and remove the pit.

Put the butter in an empty bowl, and the insulated water melts into a liquid.
*I used butter this time, if you want to use your own lard.

Pour all the soaked glutinous rice and millet into a bowl, add butter and sugar, and mix well.

Then I added water without rice, I added about 100 grams, and stirred it again.

Put the glutinous rice on the pot and steam for about 35 minutes, turn off the heat and continue to simmer for 5 minutes, open the lid and take it out.

Spread a layer of butter in the bowl, put walnuts, dates, and almonds in the bottom of the bowl in turn, forming a closed circle at the bottom.
*The ingredients in this circle do not need to be fixed. You can use the same combination as mine, or you can add various kinds of dried fruits to it by yourself, as long as you maintain a good formation of dried fruits.

Put glutinous rice on top of the nuts, press lightly with a spoon, and smooth the surface.

Around the glutinous rice, jujubes and almonds are placed in sequence, forming a circle.

Continue to put in the glutinous rice and gently press it with a spoon into a shape that is low in the middle and high around the sides.

Put red bean paste in the concave part in the middle and smooth it gently.

Finally, put the remaining rice on the surface and press it smoothly.

Put the bowl upside down on the plate and demould the eight-treasure rice.

It's done~ If you feel that the eight-treasure rice is a bit cold after demoulding, you can put it in the steamer and continue to steam for about 10 minutes. It will be warmer when you eat it.
