Summer is here, and I miss the ice-cold desserts that I must eat every day when I live in Thailand. My favorite is the mango sago, which is rich in milk and sweet but not greasy.
Mango contains sugar, protein, crude fiber, carotene and vitamin C, which are rare in all fruits. Because of its delicate flesh and unique flavor, it is deeply loved by people and is known as the "King of Tropical Fruits". Eating mango has the functions of invigorating the stomach, quenching thirst, and diuresis. Mature mango can be used as a stain reducer and diuretic in medicine. Eating more is good for eyesight and moisturizes the skin. It is a good beauty fruit for ladies. Mango contains mangiferin, which has obvious anti-lipid peroxidation and protection of brain neurons, can delay cell senescence and improve brain function. Mango pulp is juicy, delicious, and has the flavors of peach, apricot, pear, and apple. If you eat a few in midsummer, it can produce body fluids and quench thirst, relieve heat and soothe the mind.
Sago, also known as sago rice, is the most traditional starch extracted from the pith of the sago palm tree, which is processed by hand. Sago, in coastal areas such as Guangdong in China, is also called Shagumi and Shaqimi. Produced in the Nanyang Islands area, the sago quality is pure and white named Zhenzhuxigu, white and smooth, and rich in nutrition. Rich in carbohydrates and protein, it invigorates the spleen, nourishes the lungs, and reduces phlegm.
Many countries in the world have their favorite mango varieties. Thais often like to say that their mangoes are the best in the world. Thais love a kind of mango called "Brahman Mia", which means "Brahman who sells his wife". Legend has it that a Brahman who loves mangoes actually sold his wife. Buy mango to eat, hence the name. So Thailand’s coconut milk mango sago is also the most delicious. I want to make a dessert like this at home and share it with my family. Under current conditions, it’s not difficult. Let’s make it with me today~
