During the New Year, steam the nian gao and make the nian gao more beautiful. Part of the glutinous rice flour is mixed with pumpkin, purple sweet potato, and three pieces of dough of different colors. The steamed rice cake is rich in color and has a more pleasing meaning. With this new year cake, I wish everyone a colorful and colorful life in the Year of the Monkey, every year, and every step of the way.

Colorful Rice Cakes

1. Prepare glutinous rice flour and beat it into lumps with warm water

2. Divide into 4 equal parts, add pumpkin puree to 1 part

3. 1 serving with purple sweet potato mash

4. The other 2 servings are pure glutinous rice flour

5. Separately and form dough of 3 colors

6. Roll the purple dough into a round

7. Roll the white dough into a round

8. White dough is stacked on purple dough

9. Roll the yellow dough into a round

10. Yellow dough stacked on white dough

11. Cut into pieces, and the colorful rice cake dough is ready. I turned each piece over, the purple sweet potato is on top

12. Put the rice cake in the steamer, steam for 20 minutes, and serve with sugar or sweet-scented osmanthus.

Tips:

The color of the rice cake can be increased at will.
The shape of the nian gao can also be according to their love.
It is not necessary to turn over the cut rice cake dough. I turned it over because the yellow noodles are a bit soft and will collapse when it steams.
