Colorful Shell Buns

Prepare the flour and dragon fruit.

Beat the dragon fruit into juice.

Divide the flour into two equal parts, knead the fire dragon juice into a red dough, add the other half of the flour and milk to make a white dough, (and put a little lard on the dough) the two kinds of dough are fermented in a warm place to double their size.

The two types of fermented dough are rolled into round dough pieces, the white dough is placed on the bottom, and the red dough is placed on the top. The two doughs are stacked together and rolled tightly.

Cut the dough into small doses.

Roll a dough sheet into an oval shape, half of which is used to press out the stripes, and the ends of the stripes are pushed inward with chopsticks at intervals to form a beautiful wave pattern.

Use chopsticks to tighten the middle.

Place the smooth side of the dough sheet underneath, and cover the top with the patterned side into a shell shape.

One by one shell, it looks good.

Put it in a steamer, and leave it for 20 minutes for the second fermentation. After getting steam, let it steam for 15 minutes, turn off the heat, and let it out for 5 minutes.

The color has changed a bit after steaming, but it is still pretty.
Tips:
Knead the dough with a little bit of lard to make the dough smoother. Be sure to knead a little longer for the second time the dough is exhausted.
