Edamame Shrimp Congee
1.
Ingredients: 30g edamame, 15g baby porridge rice, 4 shrimps (45g after peeling).
2.
Boil the edamame in a pot under cold water for more than 20 minutes, then boil the edamame.
PS: If you have a pressure cooker, you can use the pressure cooker to cook the edamame directly, the time can be shorter, and the edamame can be overcooked.
Before the edamame is out of the pot, it is best to taste it first to make sure that the edamame is soft and ripe before removing it! If the edamame is not boiled soft, the edamame juice will not be fine after whipping, and it will damage the blade.
3.
Remove the skin of the edamame and put the remaining edamame in a small bowl. (After the edamame is cooked and peeled, I weighed it again, about 15 grams)
PS: The boiled edamame can be placed in cold water for a while. When the edamame becomes cold, you can easily squeeze the beans out with a pinch with both hands.
4.
Put the beans in a blender, add more than 30 grams of warm water, and stir into a delicate edamame juice.
PS: The whipping time is better to be slightly longer. Make sure that the edamame is finely stirred. If you are worried about the uneven mixing of individual particles, you can also filter it with a filter.
5.
Wash the shrimps and peel them, remove the shrimp threads and tendons, and add some ginger juice to remove fishy.
PS: Ginger juice has a particularly good effect on removing fishy. If the baby is afraid of the taste of ginger juice, lemon can also be used to remove fishy. The effect is also very good!
In addition, if the shrimp threads and tendons on the back and belly of the shrimp are not removed, there will be a lot of fishy smell, so be sure to pick them out carefully!
6.
Drain the shrimp and cut into small pieces.
7.
Put it in a blender and beat into a delicate shrimp paste.
8.
Add 3 teaspoons of water to the stirred shrimp paste to adjust the thinness and consistency. Stir until it becomes strong.
PS: The cooked shrimp paste is more viscous and the taste is older after cooking. Generally, I will add some egg whites to make the shrimp paste more tender and smooth, but many babies are allergic to egg whites, so I will use water instead. Moms don’t have to worry anymore, the shrimp slides made are softer and chewy.
9.
Put the shrimp paste into the piping bag.
PS: First open the piping bag with a cup, and then add the shrimp paste. This will be clean and tidy, and it will not make the shrimp paste everywhere!
10.
Boil a pot of boiling water, cut a small opening in the piping bag, squeeze into the shrimp slides, wait until the shrimps are smooth and cooked, change color and float to the surface, you can remove the shrimp slides.
PS: Squeeze the shrimp into small sections and cut them with complementary food scissors to make shrimp slides of a size suitable for the baby's entrance. Taste it first, and make sure the shrimp slides are well cooked and ready to go out of the pan.
11.
The shrimp sliders made in this way are soft and tender, even for babies who have not yet grown teeth, they can still be eaten with their gums.
If the baby can chew the cooked shrimp directly, he can put the shrimp directly into the porridge, but the shrimp will be more tender and chewy.
12.
Rinse the baby porridge with water and drain the water.
13.
Add baby porridge rice to the pot, pour 600g of water, simmer for at least 15 minutes, and cook the porridge.
PS: When cooking the porridge, it must be stirred continuously to prevent the pot from overflowing and sticking to the bottom.
I add a lot of water. If you use a rice cooker to cook porridge, it has better sealing properties, so there is no need to add so much water.
14.
Wait until the porridge is fully cooked, add edamame juice and shrimp paste, and continue to simmer for 1 minute. Babies who are over one year old can decide whether to add salt or not according to the baby's taste.
PS: Use a spoon to mix the edamame juice and porridge evenly, then add the prawns and boil for a while, let all the ingredients fuse and you can get out of the pot!
15.
The soft and tender shrimp and the sweet edamame porridge are full of umami taste. With the unique aroma of beans and smooth taste, the baby's food is not to mention how fragrant it is.
Tips:
If your baby is adding edamame for the first time, it must be added on the premise that the baby is not allergic to shrimp. And give the baby a small amount of trials to determine whether the baby is allergic to it.
Mothers must be very cautious when adding legumes to their babies, because improper handling of legumes may cause food poisoning. Be sure to choose fresh edamame and fully cooked.
Edamame is rich in dietary fiber and has the effect of promoting bowel movements. Please do not consume it during diarrhea.
