Gourd Black Rice

Black rice is washed several times, and then soaked for two or three hours; (black rice is harder to cook than ordinary rice)

Wash and peel the pumpkin together, remember to buy the top part of the big pumpkin;

Then cross it from the middle and cut into four pieces, each piece is about 8 cm long in length;

Then cut 5-6 mm wide pumpkin strips from both sides of each small piece, and cut about a dozen of them for use;

Take an appropriate amount of candied fruit, wash and chop; (variety according to personal preference, I use candied raisins and yellow peach)

Drain the soaked black rice and pour it into a large bowl, add appropriate amount of sugar (or brown sugar), candied fruit, lard (or edible oil) and mix well;

Put it in the rice cooker, add a little water to keep the rice noodles, steam it and stir to disperse;

First brush a layer of cooking oil on the nest-shaped deep dish or bowl, and then put the pumpkin strips as shown in the picture, the spacing should be moderate;

Then use a spoon to fill the steamed black rice into a bowl, fill and compact, and then put it in a steamer and steam for about 8-10 minutes.

After steaming, take it out, invert it on a plate, put half a big red date for decoration and serve;

Tips:
Buy the top part of the pumpkin, and the black rice should be soaked for a few hours in advance!
