Laba Congee
1.
Prepare ingredients: 15g rice, 15g millet, 10g brown rice, 10g black rice, 10g peanuts, 10g red rice, 3 jujubes, and 2 walnuts.
PS: To make this laba porridge, you don't need to worry about the amount of ingredients, just a small handful of each. I can probably make two bowls of porridge with these ingredients, and I can add some more mochi to the whole family to enjoy.
2.
Wash the brown rice, black rice, red rice, and peanuts and soak them for about 4 hours in advance, and soak the red dates for about 15 minutes in advance.
PS: Some whole grains are more difficult to boil, such as brown rice, black rice, etc., so be sure to soak 4 hours in advance, and then put them into the pot with other ingredients. Soak red dates in advance because the surface of red dates is not easy to clean, so the floating ash on the surface can be removed by soaking.
3.
Take out the walnuts and chop them.
PS: For younger babies, you can use a blender to mix the walnuts into fines, or use a rolling pin to crush them into fines, so as to prevent your baby from choking.
4.
Then remove the pits from the red dates and cut the red dates into small pieces.
PS: When Ma Ma cooks Laba porridge for babies, it is best not to omit the red dates, because the red dates can make the porridge very sweet. Use the natural sweetness of the red dates to flavor the eight-treasure porridge. If your baby doesn't like to drink porridge, you can also add two red dates to season it.
5.
Then put all the ingredients into the rice cooker.
PS: Compared with refined fine grains, coarse grains are more nutritious. They contain more vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber and phytochemicals. We can add a little less coarse grains when we cook porridge and rice for our babies. ~
6.
Add 600ml of water, select the cooking mode, and cook for 90 minutes.
PS: If mom can't get up in the morning or doesn't have time, you can also use the pressure cooker to cook porridge, which will save time!
7.
On the morning of Laba, it is really a super happy thing for the whole family to sit together and share the sweet Laba porridge.
8.
For younger babies, you can put the cooked laba porridge in a blender and mix it into a delicate rice paste.
9.
The well-stirred rice paste is fine and sticky, sweet and very delicious~
PS: Laba porridge is very rich in ingredients, so when pairing hemp, you must make sure that your baby is not allergic to these ingredients~
Tips:
Although coarse grains are rich in nutrients, they are not easy to boil, so it must be soaked for more than 4 hours in advance to facilitate the baby's digestion and chewing.
Do not add sugar when cooking Laba porridge, just use the natural sweetness of red dates to season the porridge. Don't develop the habit of not drinking porridge without sugar!
