Longan, Red Date and Sago Rice Dumpling

Prepare dried longan and red dates and raisins and dry clean them for later use. The red dates have their cores removed.

Prepare the sago, wash it with water, soak it, and drain the water immediately. (Do not soak and wash the rice vigorously to prevent the sago from melting)

Add sugar, mix and mix well.

Prepare an appropriate amount of zongzi leaves and wash them.

Take a piece of zongzi leaf and fold it into a small triangular funnel.

Start with a small amount of sago.

Then add an appropriate amount of dried fruit fillings.

Fill it with sago and compact it.

Press the two sides inward with your hands.

Then press down the left end to wrap tightly.

Then tighten it with cotton thread or straw rope. Use scissors to cut off the excess zong leaves.

All styling is complete.

Put an appropriate amount of water in the pot to boil, put in raw rice dumplings, cover tightly, and steam over high heat for 30 minutes to remove from the fire.

Tips:
If the zongzi leaves are dried in the sun, they can be soaked one night in advance. This is the fresh zongzi leaves that I can buy on the day of the Dragon Boat Festival. They are kept frozen in the refrigerator until now.
