Pumpkin Flower Buns
1.
The pumpkin is cut into pieces and steamed beforehand;
2.
Take out the pumpkin puree and put it in a small pot, and mix it with the yeast powder;
3.
Pour the flour into the basin and mix well. After the pumpkin puree is steamed, the water content is still quite high, so I didn't add water here, just used the water in the pumpkin puree and the flour to blend together.
4.
Knead into a smooth and soft dough. The water content of the steamed pumpkin is different, so there is no fixed ratio of how much flour you need. You can add flour while kneading to achieve the desired softness.
5.
Divide the dough into several small doughs and round them;
6.
Take one of the small doughs, sprinkle with dry flour, and gently flatten them with the palm of your hand;
7.
Use a fork to press four circles to print out. You don't need to press too hard, just press out the print. (I don’t look good when I press it, serious people will press it evenly)
8.
Cut out a corner with a knife. (Usually divided into six equal parts, exactly six petals)
9.
Pinch the two corners with your hands and squeeze them in the middle to make a petal;
10.
Just make the remaining petals one by one. I tried small flowers with five petals, six petals, and seven petals; as long as they are even, they all look pretty.
11.
The prepared florets are placed on the plate, and you can decorate them with ripe white sesame seeds in the middle. The black sesame seeds are also beautiful. When ordering, you can use a brush to moisten the center of the flower with some clean water, and then add sesame seeds, and it will stick; when placing sesame seeds, you can use the round surface of the rolling pin to dip in water, then stick the sesame seeds, and then lighten it. Lighter the position of the flower center, the sesame seeds will be glued to the steamed bun embryo;
12.
Put it in the steaming box, close the steaming box door and let it stand for 35 minutes, turn on the power, and steam for 20 minutes; after the time is over, take it out in a hurry and simmer for 3 minutes before taking it. (It’s the same when changing to an ordinary steamer. Put cold water on the bottom of the ordinary steamer, add the steamer, put the raw steamed buns on the steamer, cover the pot, let it stand for fermentation, and then steam it. About 20 minutes is fine, also don’t open the lid first, turn off the heat and simmer for about 3 minutes before opening the lid)
13.
Out of the pot. How is it, is it beautiful? Children will love such beautiful flower buns!
14.
Put it on the drying net to let off the heat. This kind of sesame seeds in the middle looks like flower stamens. When the eldest daughter came back from kindergarten, she clapped her hands and applauded. She praised me as she ate: Mom is so bad, she makes such beautiful steamed buns and they are so delicious!
This steamed bun has no water at all, it is purely kneaded with pumpkin puree. The steamed bun is sweet and soft and delicious. My little girl who has just turned one year old also likes to eat, every time I break a flower break and hold it in her hand.
Tips:
Replace with purple sweet potato or carrot, you can also make flower buns like this.
