The first time I heard of "Shui Manju", I was attracted by its charming name. Later I learned that "Shui Manju" is a Japanese confectionery that originated in Japan. It is a summer cool spot with fillings wrapped in a transparent outer skin made of arrowroot starch. The taste is sweet, the taste is smooth, and it is the best product in the summer. But if you use corn starch or wheat starch instead of arrowroot powder, you can get a more crystal clear feeling! In order to celebrate today's Valentine's Day, I made a water bun with roses as the filling, which made it more romantic!

Romance of Valentine's Day with Rose Water Mantou

1. Choose dried roses, soak them in warm water, and rinse gently with water

2. Used two kinds of roses

3. Corn starch, because the mold is not suitable, the base of the glutinous rice balls is deliberately reserved

4. Stir the starch with cold water evenly without granules

5. Add white sugar to the water, keep stirring on low heat, until the sugar melts

6. Add a small spoonful of assorted jams, you can mention a little light pink, and keep stirring

7. Pour in the water starch while stirring slowly, stirring constantly with chopsticks, until it becomes a little semi-solid, turn off the heat, and cool slightly

8. Put one-half into the mold first, and then put the roses

9. Then each of them is filled with semi-solid starch

10. After filling, cover and put in the refrigerator for 1.5 hours

11. A few drops of water on the edge during demolding will be relatively easy to demold

12. It’s a bit too much, the small mold doesn’t hold much, and the rest is put in the smallest bowl and sprinkled with some roses. You can make a big water bun, but Da Bao’er and I couldn’t help eating it. It tastes sweet and sour, with the fragrance of roses. ~It's delicious

13. Eat without waiting for refrigeration

14. Slippery fish

Tips:

1. Be sure to keep stirring while simmering on a small fire
2. Stir the starch with cold water first
3. Be very careful when unmolding, because my molds are lined up on the glass cutting board!
