Spiced Lotus Root

Peel the lotus root, cut into small cubes with a knife, soak the starch in cold water, and drain the water for later use.

Warm the oil in a pan, add the star anise, and fry it until it tastes good.

Pour in the lotus root, stir fry over medium heat, and pour half a spoon of hot water along the side of the pot halfway to make it more moisturized.

Continue to stir-fry until the lotus roots feel slightly watery. Add salt and chicken essence.

Tips:
Stir-fry the lotus roots over medium heat. The star anise can be stir-fried for a minute to produce five flavors.
