Three Flower Porridge
1.
Prepare a handful of rice, some Dendrobium flowers, roses and jasmine flowers. Drumstick dendrobium flowers can be purchased online, roses and jasmine can be bought in supermarkets.
2.
Wash the rice in advance, soak it in water for two hours to fully expand the rice grains, which can reduce the time for cooking the porridge and make the cooked porridge more smooth.
3.
Take a boiling pot, put half a pot of water in the pot, and put Dendrobium, rose and jasmine flowers in the pot.
4.
After the water is boiled on high heat, change to low heat and boil for 5 minutes. Take out the roses after 5 minutes. The roses have a bitter taste and are not suitable for eating directly, and I don’t like them.
5.
Put the soaked rice in the flower soup to cook the porridge. The flower soup should be added at once to avoid adding water in the middle. Adding water in the middle will reduce the aroma and consistency of the porridge, so you should put enough water in one go.
6.
When cooking the porridge, stir it frequently. The stirring can prevent the bottom from sticking, and it can make the rice porridge thicker. The stirring technique is: stir the rice a few times in the pot, and stir once every ten minutes after turning to a low heat.
7.
When the porridge is thick enough to be eaten, add an appropriate amount of rock sugar to taste. After the rock sugar is boiled and stirred evenly, you can turn off the heat and serve. The rock candy is added according to the taste, and those who like sweets put more, otherwise, put less.
