This shape of zongzi is a common type of zongzi in Cixi. It is usually white rice or some red beans and dates. Weddings and funerals, birthdays and full moons, etc., whenever there is a need to worship ancestors or share bonds, this kind of zongzi will appear. This is my first time to pack. I added corn dregs ingeniously and used round glutinous rice, which is more waxy. It takes long zong leaves to roll, and it feels like two pieces can’t be stacked together. The ingredients are the same as the Baojianjiao Zongzi, but dates are not used here, because they like to eat salty ones, a little salt is added.

Tips:
