Boiled Lard-soviet-style Moon Cake Preparation
1.
Wash pig suet, cut into 2cm blocks, put suet in a pot, add water to make it level with suet. Bring to a boil
2.
Add a small amount of salt and turn to low heat
3.
Cook until the oily noodles are calm. It’s fine without bubbles (about 40 minutes)
4.
Filter out the oil residue with a colander
5.
The color is still too dark, it will be white when it gets cold
6.
The fragrant and salty greasy residue is very delicious!
7.
After cooling down completely, it becomes a white solid! It's amazing. (After letting cool, put it in the refrigerator for a while, it will turn white quickly)
Tips:
It’s best to add a lid when the cooking is almost done. Sometimes a little water will fall into the oil pan and cause the oil residue to pop out. Be careful to burn it.
