Pitaya peel is rich in anthocyanins. Anthocyanins can effectively remove free radicals in the body and have detoxification effects. After the dragon fruit is eaten, the fresh peel can stay, remove the outer crusty, cut into pieces, add water to make a paste. Knead the noodles directly to make noodles. After cooking, the color will remain and become powdery. If you boil the paste of the dragon fruit peel and then knead the dough, it will become hot dough. The finished product will lose a lot of color, but the steamed dumplings or pancakes made from the hot dough will be very soft and will not be too hard to bite even if it is let cool. So if you want to reuse the pitaya peel, you can use which method you want.

Today’s steamed dumplings still use colorful dough, but this article only presents the making of pitaya dough and butterfly steamed dumplings. Other dough making can be seen in my other articles

Tips:

Use hot noodles to steam dumplings. Even if they are left to cool, the noodles will be soft, but the dumplings will lose a lot of the color of the pitaya peel. The yellow steamed dumplings in the picture are pitayas. If you use raw pitaya peels Knead the noodles, steamed dumplings can still have some pink color, but after letting cool, the dough will be very hard, so please feel free to use which method;
The filling can also be adjusted at will
