In fact, it is a plant in the Cucurbitaceae family and a mutated vegetable of winter melon. It is also called northern melon and hairy melon. But there are many. Cantonese people eat it in summer.

Cishijiegua Soup for Relieving Heat

1. Prepare the materials and clean them briefly.

2. Soak barley and ginseng in water for 30 minutes in advance;

3. Peel the zucchini and cut into large pieces;

4. After washing the pork tendon, cut into large pieces, or use pork bones instead;

5. Put it in a pot, add water and boil it over high heat for 1 minute, the blood of the pork tendon comes out. Then remove the meat, rinse, remove the foam and set aside.

6. Add zucchini, pork tendon, soaked ginseng, barley, lily, two slices of ginger and candied dates into the soup pot;

7. Put in an appropriate amount of water. (Water volume: about 2L) Cover the pot, and after boiling on high heat, turn to low heat and continue to boil for 1.5 hours;

8. Just add some salt to taste before turning off the heat.

Tips:

Melon has a lot of water, is easy to digest and absorb, has high nutritional value, and has the effect of relieving heat and clearing away heat. Drink more melon soup in the hot summer, hurry up!
