In Fuzhou, there is such a traditional custom that the last day of the first lunar month, the twenty-ninth day of the first lunar month, is designated as the "Jiu Jiu Festival"
On this day, people use glutinous rice, longan, peanuts and other ingredients to make fragrant eight-treasure sweet porridge, which is used to worship ancestors or as gifts to relatives and friends. This kind of sweet porridge is also called "Niu Jiu porridge"
Children are usually made to obey their parents. Therefore, "Niu Jiu Jie" is also known as "Filial Piety Festival."
The porridge cooked by mixing rice and glutinous rice is fragrant and sticky. After cooking, various nuts and beans make the porridge dyed with natural color, and add appropriate amount of sugar to flavor the porridge, making Nojiu Sweet porridge dark in color. Red and every bite is sweet and rich, so that people who taste it can feel the sincerity and heart of the porridge people

"Ao Jiu Festival" originated from "Mulian saving his mother". Therefore, Fuzhou people regard Jiu as a taboo, but the middle-aged family members who coincide with the "Ming Jiu" and "Dan Jiu" will be like their birthdays on the 29th day of the first lunar month. Similarly, daughters who marry after eating too flat should also give "Nine" to their parents, for the sake of their parents' safety and health. The "Ming Jiu" mentioned here means that the number of imaginary ages is nine, nineteen, twenty-nine and so on. "Dark nine" means that the imaginary age can be divided by nine, such as eighteen, twenty-seven, thirty-six, etc.

Today is the twenty-ninth of the first lunar month. Hurry up and make a bowl of sincere and filial piety for your parents.
