Raisin Walnut Scones-zero Failure Western-style Snacks

Prepare all the ingredients: butter does not need to be softened, raisins can be soaked in rum beforehand and drained before use. My house does not have rum, so I just wash the impurities directly with warm water, and then blot it dry with kitchen paper. The walnuts are roasted in advance or cooked in the microwave. Raw ones are fine, but they don’t smell like cooked.

Mix the flour with salt and baking powder and sieve, then add sugar and mix well

Add butter

First use a cutting knife to cut and mix butter and flour, and then knead into crispy pieces

Add raisins and walnuts

Mix well

Add egg and milk in portions

Just grab and knead into a ball, don't knead too much, so as to prevent the dough from becoming gluten

Roll out the dough, the thickness is preferably about 1.5 cm, mine is thinner, only 1 cm.

Use your favorite mold to press into a green embryo, or directly cut into triangles or squares. The leftover material after pressing can be kneaded again into a ball and rolled out, but don’t knead it many times to avoid tendons

Arrange on the baking tray, and brush the surface with whole egg liquid (the egg yolk water may be better). Put it into the preheated 180 degree oven, middle layer, and bake for 20 minutes.

Tips:
1. The baking temperature is adjusted according to the temperament of the oven
2. The baking time is related to the thickness of the dough and the temperature of the oven. Mine is only for reference.
3. If the oven color is too fast, it should be covered with tin foil in the middle
4. Raisins and walnut kernels can be replaced with other dried fruits
