Roast Beef with Bamboo Shoots

Add a green onion and a piece of old ginger to the pot. After the water is boiled, pour in the cut beef and blanch it.

As shown in the picture, there are many varieties of aniseed, not necessarily all of them are available. The most common ones are star anise, sanna, cinnamon and bay leaf.

Heat the oil in the pot, the oil temperature should not be too high, and stir-fry the ingredients over low heat

Stir-fry the aniseed and add the bean paste to stir-fry the red oil

Pour in the blanched beef, stir-fry until it tastes good, during which time add appropriate amount of soy sauce to color and enhance the flavor

Put the beef six to seven times the amount of water in the pot, pour the fried beef and simmer for about two hours. If the water is not enough in the middle, add some hot water and continue to simmer until it is done.

I later added a small tomato stew in the middle, and it tasted fresher
