Salatit Zabadi originated from Egypt. It cuts a variety of vegetables into small pieces, then pours them into yogurt and supplemented with fresh mint leaves. It is a very classic local snack.
Sudan and Egypt are adjacent to each other. They are separated by a strip of water. The Nile River enters Egypt through Sudan. It maintains the "lifeline" for the survival and development of the two countries. Therefore, the diet of Sudan will be influenced by Egyptian cuisine to some extent, and will evolve its own characteristics on the basis of it.
For example, in this Zabadi, peanut butter, which is commonly used in Sudanese cooking, is added, and cucumber is replaced with eggplant. Does it have a different flavor? Zabadi is traditionally served as a rice-flavored dipping sauce or eaten with kisra (Sudanese multigrain pancakes). It is a very healthy meal.
