Spiced Broad Beans

Prepare the ingredients

Peel off the shell and take out the broad beans

Soak the peeled broad beans in light salt water for ten minutes, then rinse them off

Put the washed broad beans, bay leaves, star anise and other seasonings into the pot together, and add water that has not been soaked in broad beans

Cover the pot and cook on high heat

After boiling, add proper amount of salt and stir well

Open the pot, turn to low heat, and continue to cook for another 5~8 minutes

Tips:
1. My family likes to buy fresh broad beans with shells and peel them by themselves. They are peeled and made fresh and delicious; if the broad beans change color and become old the next day.
2. Broad beans are not easy to taste, the amount of salt can be more than usual for cooking, and the taste will be more delicious.
3. After the broad beans are boiled, open the lid and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes; the broad beans cooked in this way are salty, soft and waxy, and the color is emerald green and does not turn yellow.
