My husband made homemade braised carp, simple and tasty. He also likes to put some fish offal when stewing fish (I have never dared to eat this), and he is very happy.

Braised Carp Stewed with Tofu

1. Clean up the live carp; chop it into sections for convenience

2. Prepare green onion and ginger aniseed; heat the oil in a frying pan

3. Add the fish pieces and fry on high heat; fry until the surface of the fish skin is golden

4. Cook proper amount of vinegar (to remove fishy); add sugar and soy sauce

5. Change to a larger pot, add the auxiliary ingredients, green onion, ginger, etc., and add water. (It would be better if you use broth instead of water); add fish maw

6. Cut the northern tofu into pieces; put the tofu in the pot and simmer for about 20-30 minutes, depending on the size of the fish
