The traditional Chinese New Year is the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar, commonly known as broken fifth. On this day, there is a custom called "catching up with the five poor" (intellectually poor, academically poor, culturally poor, destined to be poor, and acquainted with the poor). Starting at dawn, setting off firecrackers and cleaning up the sanitation expresses the good wishes of the Chinese working people to ward off evil spirits and eliminate disasters and welcome prosperity.

"Broken Five" means "Send New Year". After this day, everything will slowly return to the state before New Year's Eve on the fifth day of the first lunar month. Firecrackers are set off, cleaned up, and dumplings are eaten.
Why do you eat dumplings on the fifth day of the first lunar month?
There are many legends about the origin of "Bao Wu". First, it is said that Jiang Taigong named his wife a "poor god" and told her to "return when she is broken." In order to avoid the "poor god", people call this day "the poor god". Break five". Second, it is said that when people asked the gods on the New Year's Eve, they forgot the dirty god-Jiang Taigong's wife, so she was so angry that she called the Jade Emperor to make trouble. The Jade Emperor laughed, but didn't answer. I thumped my chest and my feet with squalid anger, and the Qi Qiao gave birth to smoke. When things were going to make a big fuss, the Jade Emperor said, "Well, today is the fifth day of the lunar new year. Let people fire a few more shots for you and make dumplings once."
