Don’t Waste Your Lard Residue, Wrap It with Tofu

Add yeast, sugar and water to the flour, stir it into a flocculent shape, and then knead it into a smooth dough, seal it and relax for 20 minutes.

Cut lard residue into finely pieces for later use

Chopped shallots and set aside

Cut tofu into small cubes for later use

Put oil residue, shallots, tofu in an empty bowl, then add salt, five-spice powder, sugar and oyster sauce to taste

Grab and mix evenly, you can crush the tofu to add more flavor,

Knead the loose dough smoothly, then knead into long strips and cut into uniform size

Take a potion and squeeze it with the palm of your hand, then roll it into a bun

Put stuffing into buns

Put the wrapped buns in a steamer, and let them rise in warm water for 1 hour until they become bigger

Turn on high heat and steam until gassing

After steaming for 12 minutes, simmer for another 3 minutes and boil for serving
